Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for an experienced, and preferably qualified Cost Manager (Quantity Surveyor), who has previously worked in a team supporting a range of commissions. We work with health and science clients across the UK, providing cost management consultancy services from small complex projects through to large new builds. Applications will also be considered from candidates who are working towards their professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

Delivering expert advice and cost management services to clients across our specialist sectors. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing option appraisals, feasibility studies, estimates, cost models and cost plans
  • Advising clients on procurement methodologies and managing tender processes, including preparation of bills of quantities, pricing schedules, drafting tender documents, tender reviews and reporting and placement of contract documentation
  • Cost reporting and cost control through the project lifecycle
  • Valuing construction work for interim payments, evaluating, and agreeing change, agreement of final accounts

Skills required

  • Ideally educated to degree or equivalent level in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Membership of a chartered institute (or working towards) in the construction industry (e.g. RICS, CIBSE, CIOB, or MICE)
  • Demonstrable track record of successful outcomes and able to work under own initiative
  • Good experience in project delivery utilising all common procurement and contract strategies, particularly on NEC3 and NEC4
  • Experience in supporting delivery of capital schemes in the public health care sector
