On 20 March 2024, the Public Sector Low Carbon Skill Fund (LCSF) Phase 5 was announced by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. The £16m of grant funding will be delivered by Salix Finance and is designed to allow public sector organisations to hire expert consultants to create heat decarbonisation plans. The application portal opens on April 17 and all eligible public sector bodies can apply. This Phase 5 LCSF funding leaves the old ‘first come first served’ system behind, introducing a new randomised assessment system.
Last year, Lexica secured £1m of funding for our clients and wrote heat decarbonisation plans for over 62 buildings and we have supported clients, including NHS Trusts, NHS ICBs, local authorities and emergency services. Additionally, this year we have been able to secure funding for our returning clients to update their original LCSF heat decarbonisation plans, with Phase 4 funding.
